Danish artist born in 1977, EB Itso – one of his pseudonyms – lives in Copenhagen. He works in a variety of media as well installation, photography, collage and sculpture.
The recurrent motif in his work is his engagement with people living on the fringes of society. He explores both rural and urban areas, investigating unconventional lifestyles such as that of ‘hobos’ (itinerant vagabonds who often travel by freight trains). He is particularly focused on the lives of abandoned places, non-places, forgotten passages that cling on to the traces of a kind of universal essence.
Documentation plays an important role in his work as well as intimacy that emerges from his treatment of his subjects. His works demonstrate the importance of urban exploration in his approach.

Artiste danois né en 1977, EB Itso – un de ses pseudonymes – vit à Copenhague. Il travaille avec de nombreux médiums comme les installations, la photographie, les collages ou encore la sculpture.
La thématique récurrente dans son travail est le rapport entre les hommes et les lieux de vie hors des sentiers battus. Il explore aussi bien les espaces ruraux et urbains, que les modes de vie non conventionnels tels que celui des hobos (vagabonds itinérants qui voyagent souvent à bord de trains de marchandises). Son attention se focalise particulièrement sur les lieux de vie abandonnés, les non-lieux comme le sont les passages, où il trouve une sorte d’essence d’universalité.
La documentation revêt une part importante dans son travail ainsi que l’intimité qui ressort de sa manière de traiter ses sujets. Ses œuvres reflètent aussi la part importante que prend dans son travail l’exploration urbaine.

EB Itso (1977) is een van de pseudoniemen van een Deense artiest uit Kopenhagen. Hij houdt zich bezig met verschillende media zoals installaties, fotografie, collages en sculpturen.
Een rode draad in zijn werk is zijn inzet voor mensen die aan de rand van de maatschappij leven. Hij verkent zowel rurale als stedelijke gebieden en onderzoekt daarbij onconventionele leefwijzen zoals die van de ‘hobos’ (rondreizende zwervers die vaak met vrachttreinen reizen). Hij is bijzonder geboeid door het leven van verlaten plaatsen, niet-plaatsen, vergeten doorgangen die zich vastklampen aan de sporen van een soort universele essentie.
Documentatie speelt een belangrijke rol in zijn werk, net zoals de intimiteit die uitgaat van de manier waarop hij zijn onderwerpen behandelt. Zijn werk toont aan dat het belang van stedelijke verkenning voor zijn kunst niet mag onderschat worden.
