“I think a lot of times people want to get involved in skating, whether it’s for money or to try it out, and they jump on a board and try to get into the culture. But what they don’t realize is that a lot of these kids who skate really have nothing else. Death is going to happen, but to them, it’s like, “I don’t give a fuck.” And that’s why they skateboard, because they really don’t give a fuck. It’s hard for some people to understand that mentality.”

Mark Gonzales (1968) is known in the world of skateboarding as a pioneer of street skateboarding. “Do It Yourself” summarizes his self-taught, creative and spontaneous approach to the sport and to art.
Painter, poet, pro skateboarder and video maker, he also creates fanzines, clothing and … skateboards.

Mark Gonzales (1968) est connu dans le monde du skateboard comme un pionnier du skateboard de rue. « Do It Yourself » (Fais-le toi-même) résume son approche autodidacte, créative et spontanée du sport et de l’art.
