MIMA presents POPCORN, a group show featuring 15 artists who paint a colourful, offbeat and dreamlike picture of our society, with a dose of surrealism comparable to the one of the 1930s. The humorous experience is as much a guaranteed visual shock as it is an antidote to winter melancholy. Popcorn is also an atypical, very local window on contemporary art, bringing together young and experienced players.

Het MIMA presenteert POPCORN, een groepstentoonstelling met 15 kunstenaars die een kleurrijk, excentriek en dromerig beeld schetsen van onze maatschappij, met een dosis surrealisme vergelijkbaar met die van de jaren 1930. De humoristische ervaring is zowel een gegarandeerde picturale schok als een tegengif voor de winterse melancholie. Popcorn biedt ook een atypische, zeer lokale blik op hedendaagse kunst, en brengt jonge en ervaren kunstenaars samen.

Le MIMA présente POPCORN, une exposition collective de 15 artistes qui peignent avec une dose de surréalisme comparable à celui des années 30, une image colorée, décalée et onirique de notre société. L’expérience, auréolée d’humour, est un choc picturale garanti autant qu’un antidote à la mélancolie hivernale. Popcorn, c’est aussi une fenêtre atypique, très locale, sur l’art contemporain rassemblant des acteurs jeunes et expérimentés.
